Minimal access surgery had been started in albashir hospital in 1994 and since then it became the standard operation done in our hospital. More than 8000 laparoscopic Cholecystectomy done from 1994 till 2006Other varieties of M.A.S include thoracic endoscope, diagnostic laparoscopy, laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy, and laparoscopic pancoloctomy.

Albashir hospital is the only hospital of ministry of health in Jordan that had the access to train for M.A.S.
A lot of candidates from many countries, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Sudan, had been trained in our department.
The type of training depends on the trainee stays in our hospital.

Most of our programs last 4 – 8 weeks only for laparoscopic cholecystectomy
The candidate goes to theatre from day number one.
First week: observer
Second week:  second assistant
Third week:  first assistant (camera)
Fourth week:  put trocars, insert camera, clipping cystic duct and artery, ligation and cut.
At the end of the program he will be allowed to do one or two laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
